Abstract Alternative | Carbohydrate chains are compound formed by connecting monosaccharides, and there are numerous types in consideration of the types of monosaccharides and the binding formation. Each carbohydrate chain has a different function and plays an important role in the living body. Some oligosaccharides are used in foods and cosmetics due to their functions. In the present study, we developed a synthetic method that uses carbohydrates as food that we eat on a daily basis as a raw material and converts it into bioactive carbohydrate chains having new functions by carbohydrate-rearranging reaction.
