Abstract Alternative | Economists including J. S. Mill rejected the Factory Acts, regulating the working hours per day for women. They insisted on the importance of free contracts. Mill insisted that women had to and
could decide their own working time. However, Jevons showed strong approval of regulating the working hours per day for women. He insisted that infant mortality was related to mothers neglecting babies and children during work. This research will consider the reasons for their different opinions. |
