Abstract Alternative | Wakayama Medical University is a local public medical institution in Japan, but its orthopedic surgery department now attracts many patients and even doctors from every corner of Japan and even from many other parts of the world. This is because of the great contributions and advances achieved by Dr. Munehito Yoshida, professor of Wakayama Medical University and president of its affiliated hospital. This article attempts to describe and record how he introduced, developed, and disseminated new operation methods and devices in the field of spinal endoscopic operations, while also teaching, guiding, and encouraging his staff members, assistants, and various other collaborators and supporters.
