Abstract Alternative | Presenting an analysis based on China’s multi-regional input-output model, this study reveals the impact of outflow on the ultimate value-added for 8-sector industry among 31 provincial units in China. Related to the economic links between each province and with foreign countries, these estimates also reveal information about the root problems of China’s present interregional disparities. From the viewpoint of China’s domestic regional problem, the analytical findings are applicable for realizing the Belt and Road initiative, which began in 2013.
