Abstract Alternative
Nanki Kumano Satellite of Wakayama University has been producing Geocafe, a kind of science cafe, since 2012. Geocafe’s background is based on the establishment of Nanki Kumano Geopark, so the themes of geocafes are mainly related to geotourism. The characteristics of our Geocafe are: （1） Diversity of participants, interactive and lively discussions （2） Flexibility in the selection of themes （3） Easy to participate for active workers （4） High feasibility （5） Various advantages for the local community. This paper summarizes the history of our Geocafe and outlines its role.
