Abstract Alternative | This study clarified the changes after the 2018 educational reform in Vietnam and the current state of physical education practice through interviews and class observations in a school. As a result, it became clear that in the 2018educational reform, educational methods such as group learning and evaluation modeled on the community of learning (Sato, 2012), as well as interdisciplinary lesson research were carried out. Furthermore, it was clarified that educational content centered on improving the competency of subjects common was practiced. In addition, it was suggested that the contents of this reform were spread throughout the country through workshops held for teachers, lectures before the semester, and examinations to spread these contents and methods.
In addition, in the physical education department, common goals and group work class methods for each subject were practiced and changes due to the reform were strongly visible. On the other hand, in Vietnam, the situation of sports facilities such as grounds and gymnasiums are not well-developed, and there are significant differences between schools. Therefore, line up and gymnastics are emphasized as basic movements up to junior high school. Also, as a physical education subject, the acquisition of skills was emphasized. |
