Abstract Alternative | Although there are references to the idea that “touching, being moved, and being in awe of a great being increases our interest and concern for science, our culture, and our society,”the archive of episodes related to this idea remains scarce. Uenoyama, the lead author of this paper, has been practicing as a teller of the universe, also as an arpa player. We focused on whether the practice of an arpa player performing while talking scientifically about the universe would inspire a sense of excitement and awe in those who participate in the practice, and increase their interest in science, our culture, and society. We picked up relevant episodes from the records of the four practices with three perspectives in mind:⑴ triggering for deepening interest in science,⑵ triggering for self-transformation,and ⑶ deeper appreciation. We were able to specifically archive the episodes. Besides, while reflecting the episodes, some of them showed a growing interest and concern among not only the children’s generation, but also the adult generation of parents and teachers.
