The view-master is a device developed in 1939, it is for binocular stereoscopic vision of two photos. The view-master is used by inserting a disc-shaped view-master reel, it has 7 sets of 14 photographic films. The view-master was a substitute for postcards, it was popular as a virtual tourism tool before the advent of head-mounted displays and dome theaters. It is necessary to organize the introduction of the view-master from a tourism perspective. This essay is the history of view-master from tourism perspective, it also discusses what the oriental reels including Japan, shot from the 1950s to the 1960s, symbolize.
