Abstract Alternative | Debate, especially Hexagonal Debate, is very useful for university education, particularly for accounting subjects. Hexagonal Debate was originally proposed by Matsumoto Michihiro. This paper describes its educational function among university students in 2019. By conducting a Hexagonal Debate in the author’s seminar, the students further developed not only their accounting competencies but also their abilities to actively participate in discussions.
