This paper analyses Biden’s foreign policy for the middle class as a narrative. The political purpose of the foreign policy for the middle class narrative is to build a political coalition which supports Biden’s agenda, including internationalism, identity politics and big government. To realize this purpose, Biden’s narrative has to appeal to the blue-collar workers who supported Trump and the progressive who prefer identity politics and environmental problems. Whereas the Biden administration wrestles with economic inequality and environmental problems by big government, they exclude preferences for the ethnic and cultural identity of white people. Whether the foreign policy for the middle class will succeed or not depends on the white middle class support.
