This paper engages with the problems in expanding constructs of semiotics inclusive the theories of “nonrepresentational” and “more-than-representational”, arguing “non or more-than-representational theories” have the theoretical effectiveness as the paradigms of semiotics today, especially for tourism semiotics, though some severe critical comments against them.
