Local Transport Plan
Accessibility
Southern Osaka and Northern Wakayama
With the increase in motorization in Japan, public transportation tends to decline. In such circumstances, in order to improve the situation of local public transport, the Regional Revitalization Act was enacted in 2007 (revised in 2014) and the Basic Act on Transport Policy in 2013. Under these acts, formulation of the local public transport plan has been promoted nationwide over the past ten years. This study aims to analyze the changes in public transport accessibility from 2010 to 2018 and the associated factors in the Southern Osaka prefecture and Northern Wakayama prefecture.
