This paper discusses endogenous development in a community through a case study of Kamiakizu, Tanabe City, in Wakayama Prefecture. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows: first, the area is focused on community improvement and community business; second, a characteristic feature of the community is that farmers and non-farmers work together; third, it is clear that public resources are being utilized to differentiate the community from others; and finally, even after obtaining results, the community continues to make a variety of efforts to promote endogenous development.
