Abstract Alternative
This paper examines the first half of Lu Zhenfei’s (1602–1645) life. As the director general of grain transport, Lu was active in protecting Huai’an in Jiangsu at the end of the Ming dynasty. The conclusion of the examination makes it clear that the policies he used as the director general to maintain the security of Huai’an had all been used prior to Lu taking on the role.
