Abstract
深日小学校が取り組む水泳指導は、一人ひとりの能力にふさわしい課題を持たせ、それに取り組む中で、水に親しみ、水を楽しむことを味あわせていくことを目標にしている。さらに重視していることは、すべての学年において安全に対する指導の徹底であり、「水に慣れ親しむこと」と「命を守る」ことを主眼とし、安全な学校水泳の指導を行っている。その実践的な水泳指導を教員が中心となって行った結果、児童の安全管理に対する意識の向上が確認され、水に慣れ親しむことが楽しいと感じていることがわかった。
