Abstract
セルフ・ハンディキャッピング(SHC)とは、課題遂行に先立ち何らかの条件設定あるいは具体的行動を行うことで、結果の成否を問わず自己に有利な状況を作り出そうとするものである。本研究では、大学生106名に対してSHC傾向の高低および性格諸特性を調べて、両者の関係について分析を行った。その主な結果として、他者意識と抑うつ傾向がともに高水準にある人は、SHCに頼る傾向が強くなることなどが実証的に示された。
