Abstract
TIMSS2015の調査結果で、日本の子どもたちが理科を学ぶことに対する意義や有用性について課題のあることが露呈した。この要因の一つに小学校での理科教育の現状があげられるであろう。そこで、小論では和歌山県の全国学力・学習状況調査の結果から見いだされる小学校理科教育の課題や本学が実施している初任者研修履修証明プログラムを受講している初任者が抱える理科教育に対する課題を見いだし、小学校理科における観察・実験の重要性について論述する。
